Our sweet and outgoing former momma cat, Clementine, has found her forever home! Clem's new mom had her heart set on a black cat because she knows they are less likely to be adopted and Clem was the purrfect match. Clem had her world turned upside down when she was returned to us by her previous adopters due to no fault of her own. We're happy she now has a forever family again!

Sweet roly poly girl Nona found her new dad yesterday! Nona was surrendered by her family when animal control was packed to the gills over the summer. She was lucky to make it out and get a second chance at a home. We know her new life is going to be a great one! Happy adoption to Nona and family!

Rupert came into animal control a very beat up and standoffish guy that had clearly been on the street a long time. He had a mouth full of bad teeth and walked with a noticeable limp due to disc disease. He charmed his foster family, including the resident kitty who isn't easy to please. Earlier this week, they decided that he'd be staying permanently. Rupert is officially adopted and gets to have the comfortable life he has always deserved. Happy adoption to Rupert and family!!

Happy adoption day to handsome Loki and his new mom! Loki came to us as a single orphan little kitten in late summer. He was quite sassy back then and has grown into a great (still spunky) kitty. He's a perfect match for his new brother, a rough and tumble Bengal mix. We're so happy Loki found his perfect home!

Tuffy came a long way from the tiny kitten who came into animal control virtually lifeless after being hit in the head with a rock. She recovered wonderfully and grew into a beautiful and sweet kitten who found a forever home that is just perfect for her. She's even making friends with her new brother already. Chocolicious and Hershey have found their forever home together! Initially coming into animal control from the same location one day apart and being reunited, these two siblings turned out to be the definition of a bonded pair. Choco was beside himself if he was ever separated from Hershey. We're thrilled they get to stay together forever in their fabulous new forever home!

One of our longer term adult cats, Necie, found her forever home this week! Necie prefers the company of humans to other cats and started off quite sassy, so it took her a little longer to find her perfect home, but we just knew it was out there! Happy adoption day to Necie and her new mom!

Scarecrow (formerly Indian, now Ozzy) has found his forever home! He's already settling in great with his new doggie sister. Scarecrow came to us a few months ago from animal control suffering from a severely broken leg that required surgical correction to save. He healed well in his foster home and got along so wonderfully with the dogs there that we knew he'd do well with a pup as a buddy in his forever home. Happy adoption day Ozzy and family!
Magnolia & Catapla

It was a good day indeed for Magnolia and Catapla! They went home today with a kind and caring couple who will be spoiling them like crazy. These two came to CARF as part of a litter of 5 sisters who were brought into the shelter with no momma. The handful of weeks they spent with CARF was just enough to sweeten them up to perfection. Good luck girls!
Apple Sauce & Azalea

Getting squirming Apple Sauce and Azalea (sisters to Catalpa and Magnolia) to pose for their adoption photo was quite the task today. Who can blame them? They are going home to a new parrot sister, who has a decked out play structure. Plus their mom already stocked up on goat's milk and raw food - darn near paradise. We wish the sisters well on their journey, 'cause darn it, they deserve it!

Happy adoption day to our tiny special needs kitten, Taylor! Taylor was rescued from animal control with some neurological issues. Her wobbliness doesn't hold her back and didn't deter her new family from adopting her! She's going to be one spoiled girl in her awesome new home!

Esmee, formerly Judy, was adopted over the weekend. She had a rough start to her life as she was adopted from CACC as a kitten, declawed, then returned for biting a child. From the looks of it, she's not going to have too many worries from now on. Esmee landed herself a wonderful, committed family!

This adoption is an all-around win! Citrus and Gingko just went home with the greatest family who are giving them the perfect adoption names - Solar and Lunar. These two arrived at the shelter at just 4-weeks old with no momma. Fast forward a month and they got their happy ending today.

The last of the Tree litter has been adopted! That's 7 out of 7. Cutie Maple went home today and will meet her new big brother. Her new Dad is a confirmed cat guy and has a great plan to introduce Maple to her new house. We are so excited for Maple and all her lucky litter mates. It's been a good week for CARF and that's no joke!

"From a Hot Mess to Hot Damn" will be the title of Little's memoir if she ever gets around to writing a book. She arrived at CACC an orphan and caught our eye after she showed up on Facebook in one of the saddest, most pathetic photos ever. She's had some peaks and valleys along the way, but hot damn, her luck has changed. This lovely couple took her in as a foster a few months ago and just recently made it official by adopting our beloved sweet and quirky girl.

Alastar was brought into CACC and labeled a biter, something that can sometimes be a death sentence for a cat. Luckily, her sunny disposition earned her release and her adorable face captured the attention of her foster mom who wanted to rescue her despite that label. Fast forward several weeks and Alastar met her forever mom who is spoiling her rotten and renamed this spunky and adventurous girl Sass! Happy adoption day to Sass and family!

Jake and Maggie were rescued back in October as young kittens who almost lost their lives at animal control. Since then they've grown into a beautiful pair of almost adult cats. We had them in our care for a lot longer than we would have thought, but now we know it's because they were waiting for their perfect family. They found their forever home today with lifelong cat lovers and we couldn't be happier for everyone!

When we heard Cupcake was on her way to CACC, Joellyn dropped what she was doing to go and get her immediately. In the process, she fell in love with this little sweetie and now they're making it Facebook official. Cupcake, now Cassidy, turns one today, so it's the perfect day for her to start her new life! Hershey was spotted early on by his adoptive mom on the CARF page. Today they finally met and Hershey went home with his new mum! Fun facts we learned from his new mum who hails from Britain. First, there has never been a history of declawing cats in the UK. Secondly and very cutely, when you bring a new cat home, you put butter on its paws to welcome the new cat home. Knowing Hershey, I bet he loved the buttery welcome!

We are thrilled that our little lion found his forever home! Honey was adopted and returned to us when his adopter was moving out of the country. He'd never gotten along with the other cat in the home and we decided to find him a home where he could be king of the castle. It took some time, but he found his perfect new home. He's now living the life he deserves as the spoiled only kitty! Happy adoption to Honey and family! A huge thanks goes out to his foster Melissa for agreeing to take him on as a foster a second time and seeing him through to the right forever home.

Bandit lived up to his name and stole a heart last night! His adoption also marks the celebration of his adopters' wedding anniversary. Love is all around. What a lucky kid, considering he and his siblings were rescued as teeny-tiny babies after their mom tragically passed away. CARF loves our adopters! And our generous fosters!

It's not everyday that one of your long term, shy on a meet and greet, almost adult, black kitties with some chronically runny eyes finds her forever home, but that's exactly what happened yesterday! Sister kittens Smokey and Frog went to their respective forever homes tonight! Frog's new family fell in love with her at our booth at West Fest a couple of weekends ago and Smokey's new mom fell in love with her adorable face online. They both have kitty siblings waiting at home. We're so happy to see both of these sweet girls find such wonderful families!

Antler and Twig found their love match with this sweet couple. Both kittens entered CACC sick and alone, so they could not have found a happier ending. They are going to have so much fun. We are so happy!!!
Elvis

Elvis (fka Jeeves) came to us this spring from animal control a filthy, dirty mess with all kinds of issues. He was covered in some kind of grease, had an abscess at the base of his tail, needed a full dental, and lost nearly all of his hair. He'd clearly had a rough life outside until that point and had the FIV positive status to prove it. Thanks to a dedicated foster and some wonderful vet care, Elvis transformed into the gorgeous and healthy boy that he is today. Elvis easily charmed his new mom at our recent adoption event at Kriser's where he worked the crowd on a harness and leash. We're so happy to see him find a wonderful home with an experienced cat mom! Happy adoption to our big hunka love, Elvis and his new family!
Sia & Pink

Way back at the end of May, we rescued 12 bottle babies from CACC. Four of the smallest ones didn't survive, but eight of them did and have just recently become an adoptable size and age. These two lovely little girlies, Sia and Pink Kitty, are the first to find their forever home. Their wonderful new mom met them at our adoption event at Kriser's and fell in love with their sweet, easygoing personalities right away. Happy adoption Sia, Pink, and family!
Charlie Brown Hat & Linus

Charlie Brown Hat and Linus were both rescued as teeny tiny orphans and have been fostered together since Linus came to us as a bottle baby. Clearly things are looking up for Murphy! He went home today with his brother Lego, who was just not feeling like posing for the paparazzi. In any case, both boys are a classic rags to riches story. Hard luck harrowing, homeless early days to a wonderful foster home then on to a loving forever home. Murphy was part of a hoarding situation where he was living in filth with 100 other cats. Lego was rescued from animal control, a skinny, dirty stray. They bonded and swapped tales of woe in foster care. These CARF boys have made good and we couldn't be prouder!

Frisky had the misfortune of ending up at Chicago animal control not once, but twice. The second stay there almost ended his life, as he was not only exposed to panleuk, but labeled a biter and put on a rabies quarantine for a reported scratch. His luck turned around when a foster stepped up to save his life. She made a wonderful video showing what a great cat he is and his profile caught the eye of a cat-loving couple looking for a buddy for their existing kitty. They met a lot of cats, but knew he was the one. Happy adoption day, buddy. May you never have to see the inside of animal control ever again!

We didn't have Miracle very long because he was just too cute and fun to pass up. A cat-loving couple saw his video and wanted to snap him up right away as a companion for their cat at home. Miracle's adoption saved two more lives because it opened up a foster home for two kitties waiting for rescue at CACC. He was only in his forever home a couple hours when his foster family refilled their foster room with two kitties who had waited a long time for rescue. Adopting truly does save lives. Little BeeBee found her forever home with a self-described crazy cat lady. As soon as they met, Beebee rubbed her bobcat scent all over her new momma. A match made in bobcat heaven!
Snow Puff

Our very shy and special boy, Snow Puff, found his forever home! Snow Puff was found frozen to the ground and suffered severe frostbite damage. He endured several surgeries and lost the majority of both of his back feet. He has healed physically, but he needed a special kind of adopter who understood that he is a work in progress in terms of socialization and requires patience. We are thrilled that our buddy now has a permanent home. Happy adoption to Snow Puff and his new mom and kitty sister!

Cashew was rescued from animal control where he showed up as a starving and injured stray, lost or discarded by his first adopters. He learned about the good life for the first time in a long time in his foster home and then charmed his new mom at our adoption event in November. He is now on to his new forever family who will cherish him for the rest of his life!

Kramer came to us as a tiny kitten with an uncertain future. He was paralyzed in his back legs and quite lethargic. With time, and tons of care from the many Village West staff members who took him home every night so he would never be alone, Kramer regained his mobility and became a happy, active, and very affectionate kitten. We are thrilled that he's found his perfect forever home with some of our wonderful past adopters. He's hit the jackpot of homes and is going to be one spoiled kitten!
