Karma and her momma Kismet have been through a lot lately. Kismet first came to us as a new momma to 5 kittens. She did a fabulous job raising her kittens and everyone was adopted. Kismet was adopted with one of her kittens, Karma. Should be a happy ending, right?
Kismet was recently found as a stray. Apparently she had been outside for weeks (pretty much since adoption!) and her adopter put in very little to no effort to find her. We now have Kismet AND her kitten Karma back in our care and are looking for a REAL forever home for them.
Karma is about 12 weeks old now. She either needs to be adopted with mom or into a home that already has a young cat. She is a happy-go-lucky kitten and just a joy to have around.
Kismet is sweet as pie and an absolute love. She does need a slow intro to other cats but doesn't mind dogs. She does not have to be adopted with Karma.
Here at CARF we put a lot into our cats and kittens to get them from rescue to adoption. They get ample medical care, conscientious foster care, and lots of love. All we ask of our adopters in return is that they care for them as we did and keep them safe. You don't need to be rich to do this (lord knows WE aren't). You don't need to be an expert on cat behavior or veterinary medicine. However, you do need to treat your adopted cats like you respect and value their lives and we hope like they aren't just pets or objects, but family members. We have an adoption contract for adopters to sign because we take this seriously and want to see the cats and kittens we've rescued, many of whom have already suffered enough, go on to live happy and healthy lives. Kismet and Karma have been through too much already in their lives so if you aren't prepared to treat them like family, they aren't the right cats for you.
